In the beginning, Karen’s 13 year old daughter Victoria, wanted a small Swarovski Crystal necklace. The going rate in South Florida at the time was about $200. Being a conscientious, frugal mom, her response was brief, “Sorry Sweetheart, that’s not in the budget.”

Victoria, a very creative young lady, responded, “What if I find the crystal at a good price and we make it?”

“Why not?”

Needless to say, Victoria found the crystals in bulk at a fair price. The cost to make one necklace was reasonable, however, not in relation to the up front cost and the materials left. The solution? We’d make high quality jewelry to sell at art shows and conferences, and after we recovered our out-of-pocket expenses, we’d use the profits to help others.
